Interstate Gas Supply
Scott Johnston, Associate Professor of Architecture and MDC Steering Committee member, worked with two students as consultants for Interstate Gas Supply (IGS). The first part of the work was done under the auspices of the Center for Building Science Research and they followed up with additional testing in the summer on a by-the-hour arrangement.
Their role was to analyze the window heat gains, and daylight design strategies for the client. Scott and the students looked at about a dozen glazing types, and a dozen window configuration strategies. I think they received a LEED Gold rating, but more importantly in terms of our contribution got all the LEED points for energy. The Creative Technology Accelerator building they worked on in Dayton, with TAG (the Architectural Group) was the first LEED Gold building in Dayton.
